PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Want a truly unique, bespoke chassis?

For the first time ever, you can order a custom-configured Boom Racing chassis, built your way.

This exclusive offering lets you experience building the very same truck, with the same configuration and details that make it truly one of a kind.

This special build is based on the BRX01 AWB Link Builder’s Kit [BR8014], first unveiled at the RC Rain Forest Challenge (RCRFC) 2025 in Malaysia. That same proven concept is now available as a fully customizable build for serious scale enthusiasts.

You are expected to do some DIY work, including trimming the body cab (wheel arches) and modding the tubular aluminum front bumper, and custom-fitting the bed. To achieve this configuration, certain components and setups are different than the standard BRX01 AWB Link Builder’s Kit, such as the pan hard bar and mount, and the rear upper stainless steel links.

This custom truck is recommended for builders with prior experience in custom crawler builds.

Chassis Features:

  • Drive System: Full-Time Shaft Driven 4WD

  • Upper Link (Rear): Stainless Steel 48mm
  • Lower Link Spline Shaft (Rear): Stainless Steel XL 62mm BRLC70229-XL

Scale PHAT Axle choices:
  • Front:
    • BRX90 portal (recommended) 188mm pin-to-pin
    • BRX90 straight 176mm pin-to-pin
  • Rear:
    • BRX90 portal (recommended) 188mm pin-to-pin
    • BRX90 straight 176mm pin-to-pin
    • BRX80 portal 173.5mm pin-to-pin

For our RCRFC build, we used BRX90 portal axles front and rear, delivering excellent steering angle and strong chassis-end clearance.

A mullet setup with a BRX90 front straight axle and a BRX80 rear portal axle is also possible. However, the straight axle is slightly narrower so you will need to limit steering using EPA on your radio or run smaller diameter tires to avoid interference.

Notes about this custom build:
  • The rear adjustable standard-length rails are set to their maximum extension. To achieve a 313 mm (12.3 in) wheelbase while preserving an excellent departure angle, we use the shortest (standard) rails, combined with longer rear upper links and XL lower link spline shafts.
  • To improve the approach angle, 10 mm is added to all three front stainless steel links using a combination of two 2 mm and two 3 mm aluminum spacers per link.
  • The front axle is pre-built and clocked forward by 10° (one slot), using matching 10° reinforced steel axle brackets to ensure strength, durability, and long-term reliability.
  • If you choose a front straight / rear portal “mullet” setup, note the slight difference in axle width:
    • BRX90 straight axle: 176 mm
    • BRX80 portal axle: 173.5 mm

Please read before purchase:

This is a DIY-focused, custom build and requires hands-on work by the builder:
  • The ZIL Pickup hard body cab needs custom trimming (wheel arches)
  • The tubular aluminum front bumper is cut and modified (for smaller footprint)
  • The rear bed requires custom fitting (cage is cut and needs to be mounted onto the rails)
  • The front axle is clocked by 10°, this means the front panhard mount differs from the stock configuration. The panhard bar mounts directly to the axle, using an aluminum spacer. All parts will be provided.

Due to the level of customization involved, this product is intended for semi-advanced to experienced custom truck builders. To avoid buyer's remorse, this product is only recommended to builders who have experience putting together customer crawlers.

This is not a fully finished, out-of-the-box kit. It’s designed for builders who enjoy fabrication, problem-solving, and creating something personal and one-of-a-kind.
