PHAT axles are heavier than most axles, a desirable feature for crawlers to maintain a low center of gravity.

In addition to its weight, the AR44 PHAT portal axles are smooth and durable. The gears are made of heavy-duty hardened steel for added durability and strength. The BADASS driveshafts are constructed from high-strength alloy steel for maximum durability.

  • Additional 15mm / 0.59" ground clearance at the pumpkin over AR44 straight axle
  • Heavy and low CG AR44 PHAT axle housing
  • Heavy and low CG AR44 PHAT diff cover
  • CNC anodized aluminum lockouts and portal covers
  • BADASS™ heavy-duty steel rear driveshafts and portal driveshafts for ultimate durability, performance, and strength for the axle drivetrain
  • Four heavy-duty hardened steel metal gears in each portal gearbox for ultimate durability; easy to set up as standard rotational drivetrain
  • Steel brackets included for added axle strength
  • Triangular keyed AR44 (30/8T) high pinion gear, input shaft, and triangulated spool (optional underdrive gear available)
  • High pinion axle setup for improved clearance
  • Reversible ring gear position in the housing and optional reversed AR44 gear for counter-rotating center drivetrain setup
  • Compatible with PHAT™ axle brake disc and caliper (requires optional adapter #BRPT005)
  • Anodized aluminum lower link mounts
